Our History

Hull has been home to Albert Draper & Son Ltd, metal reprocessors for four generations. First established by Albert Draper in 1922, it is still a family owned and managed business.

Drapers recover thousands of tonnes of metal by buying all grades of ferrous and non ferrous metal to crush, reprocess and sell on to other industries for re-use. This has included anything from a bicycle to a trawler, and a kettle to a steam engine.

A recent programme of new investment in staff, equipment and facilities has ensured continuing success and growth. Now operating from a purpose designed site at Black 5 Works just off Hedon Road, easy access is available from all directions including the Port of Hull Docks.
