About Drapers

Hull has been home to Drapers for over 85 years. First established by Albert Draper in 1922, the business remains family-owned and managed and is currently run by the fourth generation of owner managers.

Drapers recover thousands of tonnes of metal by buying all grades of ferrous and non-ferrous metal to crush, reprocess and sell for re-use in many different countries across Europe, and even as far afield as China. From bicycles and trawlers, to kettles and steam engines, we provide a comprehensive waste management and metal recycling service to meet the demands of a wide range of industries.

After years of working with several large blue-chip companies such as BP Chemicals, Smith & Nephew, Willerby Holiday Homes and Aalco, as well as a number of smaller local businesses, we understand the high standards of quality and reliability that is required from all of our customers.

With a wealth of experience, state-of-the-art facilities and solid family values, you can be assured that our ability to work with a wide range of metals including iron, steel, copper, brass, lead, aluminium and stainless steel is second to none, and that Drapers is a firm you can trust and rely upon.

We are fully compliant with the latest health and safety and environmental regulations, and our fully-licensed recycling site in Raven Street, Hull, is ideally located for main transport links, including the port of Hull.
